The lovely country of Canada that we live in with our bipolar weather…but at least April showers bring May flowers, or so they say. It’s been raining so much, well at least here in Toronto! This weather is just another thing I should be grateful of- that we all should be grateful of living in Canada! We are all very lucky people to be living in Canada, but the best part is representing it! We should all be so proud of where we are standing and remember that though there are many talented individuals, not all of them get this opportunity! So pat yourself on the back, be appreciative and be proud!

Miss Teen Canada to me personally is a really awesome pageant. I love that it welcomes any girl from any race, religion or belief, and also that it encourages girls to be healthy and O.K with who they are. This pageant is meaningful to me because it’s not only about the looks, and the beauty, but about the smarts and how you care about those less fortunate and improve people’s lives. The Dare to Be YOU motto really helps me feel comfortable as a young lady and I’m sure to others as well. Thank you Miss Teen Canada and such pageants for accepting and qualifying girls who thought they weren’t beautiful but know truly that they really are.

Today, I would like to dedicate this post to the late, great Nelson Mandela. Mandela is a man who fought for his rights and others too. Though he was arrested for protesting against racism, he still touched the hearts of people across the world. Mandela received 250 honours, including the Nobel Peace Prize. Even though Nelson Mandela devastatingly passed away, his legacy will always keep living. A famous quote by Nelson Mandela: Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

I’ve decided to elaborate more on Sick Kids Hospital. What I’d really love to do is read to the small children, and share and laugh about stories and adversities in life we have to encounter. Second, I want to thank Sicks Kids for all they have done, and for healing me because without them, I don’t know if I’d even be standing where I am. I’d like to finish with my favourite quote by Les Brown: Shoot for the moon even if you miss you’ll land among the stars.

What I’m really looking forward to with my my title is visiting Sick Kids hospital. When I was four, I had this strange disability, not being able to walk or talk, which resulted me in staying in that hospital for two weeks. I don’t remember much, but i do know that without their help and patience, I wouldn’t be where I am today! I want to see those kids who are now who i was then, and inspire them to be hopeful because everyone has a purpose!

Hey everyone! I cannot wait to see all of my Ontarian friends and meet some new friends in July!! These months are going by so fast-it’s almost exam time! I really love seeing everyone’s blogs and what they have to say about events or inspiring stories. Can’t wait to see you all in person rather than online, N’Keyah. xx
